- Collections run on a ward-based day allocated to your area
- Fridges and freezers must be emptied of food waste before collection
- Bagged items must be liftable by one person without risk of injury; bags of bricks, rubble or soil should only be part-filled so they are not too heavy to lift
- Service is for residential properties only, not commercial premises
If you cannot move the items yourself: Assisted collections are available and can be requested alongside a bulky waste booking through the council's online system.
Kerbside-only rules are the norm across the UK; crews are not insured to enter your home. If nobody can get your items outside, see your options when you can't lift it.
No lifting at all with WasteSpeed: a two-person crew carry from any room of the house, on your area's route day each week, from £199. Book online →
