- Hazardous waste such as asbestos, chemicals or paint stripper
- Waste left over from building or repair work
- Window frames, external doors, conservatories and greenhouses
- Pallets, tyres, gas canisters, car batteries, parts and engines
- Appliances such as cupboards and fridges that are not empty (apart from their own fixtures)
Access rules and limitations
- Sofas, armchairs and other upholstered seating containing POPs (persistent organic pollutants) are collected separately, sometimes on a different visit to other items
- Changes need at least 24 hours' notice; Monday collections must be changed by 11.30am the preceding Friday
- An assessment is made at the time of collection as to whether items are safe to remove
