Access rules and limitations
- Items must be out before 6am on the scheduled collection day
- Maximum 9 items per order
- Standard (non-upholstered) collections run on Saturdays, upholstered/POP item collections run on Mondays
- Booking requests must be in by 2pm the Friday before
- The council can refuse to collect items it judges cannot be properly disposed of
If you cannot move the items yourself: The council runs a separate assisted collections scheme for residents unable to present recycling, refuse and garden waste at the property boundary due to illness or disability, arranged after a home visit; its own page confirms this does not cover bulky waste, which remains a separate paid-for service.
Kerbside-only rules are the norm across the UK; crews are not insured to enter your home. If nobody can get your items outside, see your options when you can't lift it.

- Mixed orders of standard and upholstered items need two separate bookings and charges
- Prices increased from 4 August 2025
Free route: Charges can be waived under the council's Exceptional Hardship Criteria for residents who cannot afford the fee, with supporting documentation required. Free bulky collections have also been run for residents affected by flooding.
